GroomerMap
Terms of Service
Effective from 21 July 2026 · last updated 21 October 2026
1. Introductory provisions
These terms of service (the “Terms”) govern the mutual rights and obligations between the operator of the GroomerMap platform and its users. The operator is:
IČO: 75412853
Place of business: Ke Křížku 242, Kunice ‑ Vidovice
E-mail: kristyna@groomermap.com
(the “Provider”)
By registering, creating a profile, or otherwise using the Platform beyond simply browsing publicly available content, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Platform to that extent.
Definitions
- Platform — the GroomerMap web application available at groomermap.com.
- Visitor — anyone browsing the Platform without registering.
- User — any registered person (a Visitor with an account, Professional, Brand, Organiser).
- Professional — a user who has created a professional profile on the Platform (groomer, handler, breeder, trainer, judge, educator, etc.).
- Brand — a user presenting a manufacturing or commercial brand on the Platform.
- Organiser — a user who publishes an event (a show, competition, trade fair) or a seminar on the Platform, or sells tickets to one.
- Consumer — a User who is a natural person acting outside the scope of their business activity (Section 419 of Czech Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, the “Civil Code”).
2. What GroomerMap is
GroomerMap is an online directory and marketplace connecting dog-care professionals (groomers, handlers, breeders, trainers, judges, educators), brands, and organisers of shows, competitions, trade fairs and seminars with visitors looking for their services, products, or events.
The Provider is not a party to the relationship between a Professional/Brand/Organiser and a Visitor who arranges a service, purchase, or event attendance through the Platform — in this respect, it only facilitates contact. This also applies to seminar ticket sales (section 6): the contract for seminar attendance is formed exclusively between the Buyer and the Organiser, who actually runs the seminar and is responsible for its content, quality and delivery. In this relationship, the Provider acts only as an intermediary — it operates the booking and payment tool, collects the ticket payment on behalf of and for the account of the Organiser, and charges an agreed commission for this intermediary activity (section 6). The exceptions where the Provider is a direct party to the contract are the purchase of paid profile tiers (section 4) and level verification (section 6a) — there, the Professional, Brand or Organiser buys the service directly from the Provider.
3. Registration and user account
- Registration is available from age 16.
- You undertake to provide truthful, accurate and up-to-date information and to keep it current.
- You are responsible for securing your access credentials (password) and for all activity under your account. Report suspected account misuse without undue delay to kristyna@groomermap.com.
- A given Professional/Brand/Organiser may generally hold one active profile of that type, unless otherwise agreed with the Provider.
- The Provider may suspend or delete a profile that violates these Terms, provides false information, or is reported as abusive (see section 8).
4. Free and paid tiers
A basic directory listing (Basic Listing for Professionals, Standard Listing for Brands, free event listing) is free. Paid tiers extend a profile's visibility, content, or placement in search results and on the homepage. The current scope and prices of each tier are always shown on the groomermap.com/pricingpage, which constitutes the binding price list at the time of order.
Paid tiers are ordered and paid for by Professionals, Brands and Organisers as businesses in the course of their business or professional activity — consumer-protection provisions (in particular the right to withdraw from a contract under section 11) do not apply to these orders, unless the specific person exceptionally acts as a Consumer.
5. Payment terms
- Payments for subscriptions, add-on placements and level verification are processed by the Stripe payment gateway; by using these payment features, you also agree to the Stripe Services Agreement. The Provider does not process or store card numbers.
- Prices are stated in EUR. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on the chosen plan and renew automatically until cancelled in your account.
- Cancelling a subscription takes effect at the end of the already-paid period — no pro-rated refund is given for an elapsed billing period, unless the Provider decides otherwise in a specific case.
- Not renewing or cancelling a paid tier results in the profile automatically reverting to the free tier.
6. Sale of seminar tickets
This section describes how the sale of tickets to seminars run by Organisers (Educators, Brands) actually works on the Platform, and is a binding part of these Terms for both Organisers and Buyers.
- The Provider is solely an intermediary for the sale, not the organiser of the seminar. The seminar is run by, and the Organiser is fully responsible for, its content, professional standard, proper delivery, and any change of date or cancellation. The Provider does not assess or guarantee the Organiser's professional competence or the seminar's quality beyond the basic moderation described in section 8, and is not liable for damage incurred by the Buyer in connection with the holding, content, cancellation or change of the seminar. Claims arising from defective performance or cancellation of the seminar are made by the Buyer directly against the Organiser.
- The Buyer pays by card via Stripe Checkout, in EUR.
- GroomerMap retains an intermediary commission of 10% from each ticket sold.
- The remaining 90% is transferred, on behalf of and for the account of the Organiser, to their linked payment account (Stripe Connect Express) — the Provider neither retains this amount nor receives it as its own revenue.
- Payout requires the Organiser to complete Stripe Connect onboarding, available from that seminar's dashboard.
- Complaints, cancellations and refunds are currently handled by the Organiser directly with the attendee as the contracting party; GroomerMap does not currently actively mediate or decide disputes between an Organiser and an attendee.
- A Buyer who is a Consumer acknowledges that this is the provision of a leisure-time service performed on a fixed date (the seminar takes place on a specific day), and accordingly, under Section 1837(j) of the Civil Code, is not entitled to the 14-day right of withdrawal under section 11 of these Terms.
6a. Verified GroomerMap levels
This section governs the level verification service, which the Provider supplies directly to Professionals.
- What a level is. A verified level (Verified Groomer, Senior Groomer, Show Groomer, Master Groomer and the honorary Judge level) is a designation the Provider awards to a Professional after checking the documents they submitted against the criteria published in the Verified level section of the user account. A level only expresses that the submitted documents met those criteria. It is not a state-recognised qualification nor a professional qualification under Czech Act No. 179/2006 Coll., and the Provider does not guarantee the quality of the Professional's services by it (see section 10).
- Application and fee. Applications are made in the user account. The verification fee is shown before the application is submitted and paid. The fee is payment for checking the documents, not for awarding the level, and is paid in advance via Stripe (section 5). The honorary Judge level is verified free of charge. Section 4 on orders made in the course of business or professional activity applies to the order.
- Review. The Provider usually reviews an application within 14 days of payment. Before deciding, it may ask the Professional once to add documents. The Provider decides on awarding a level at its own professional discretion and may reject an application, in particular if the documents are incomplete, illegible or not credible, do not meet the published criteria, or the work photos are of insufficient quality.
- Refund. If an application is rejected, the Provider refunds the fee in full to the card it was paid with. You can cancel an application the Provider has not yet started reviewing by emailing kristyna@groomermap.com, and we will also refund the fee in full. Once a level has been awarded, the fee is not refunded.
- Validity and renewal. Levels 1 to 4 are valid for 2 years from the award; the honorary Judge level has no time limit. When a level expires, the designation disappears from the profile. A level can be renewed at a reduced price on proof of active practice. Cancelling a subscription does not affect an awarded level.
- Truthful documents. You are responsible for the submitted documents being genuine and truthful, for the photos showing your own work, and for holding the necessary rights to them. If the Provider finds that documents were false or altered, it revokes the level and the fee is not refunded. You may object to a revocation within 30 days by replying to the notice or by emailing kristyna@groomermap.com; the Provider will review its decision.
- Certificate and public verification. After a level is awarded, you receive a PDF certificate by email. The level is shown on your public profile, in search results and on the map. The holder's name, the level, the certificate number, the dates of award and validity and any revocation can be verified publicly at groomermap.com/verify. You may use the level designation, badge and certificate only while the level is valid, must not alter them, and must not present them as a state-recognised qualification.
7. Affiliate / referral programme
Users can invite other professionals using their personal referral link. By default, a user thereby earns platform credit — a percentage of the payments the invited person makes to GroomerMap during their first year of membership, up to a set overall cap. The credit is automatically applied against the user's future GroomerMap payments and cannot be paid out in cash. Once the cap is reached, a user may apply for Paid Partner status — once approved by the Provider, they then earn a cash commission of the same rate instead of credit, as real cash, with no cap on the total amount earned across all invited people; for each individual invited person, the commission is calculated the same way as the credit — only from payments for that person's first year of membership. The exact current credit rate, cap, and commission rate are shown in the Invites & Rewards section of your account. Cash payouts to Paid Partners are made via Stripe Connect and are conditional on completing the relevant onboarding and accepting the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. The Provider reserves the right to withhold, reverse, or reclaim a reward obtained in violation of these Terms (e.g. by registering fake accounts). Paid Partner status is tied to the user's own active paid GroomerMap membership and automatically ends if it is cancelled.
8. Rules of conduct and content
You agree that on the Platform you will not:
- post false, misleading or offensive information;
- upload content to which you do not hold the necessary copyright or other rights;
- harass other users via messaging or otherwise misuse the Platform's communication tools (e.g. for unsolicited advertising);
- attempt automated downloading (scraping), copying, or other unauthorised extraction of data from the Platform beyond ordinary browsing;
- circumvent paid features or impersonate another person or entity.
New content (in particular new profiles) goes through automated review and, in case of suspicious content, manual moderation before publication. The Provider may remove content or delete an account that violates these rules at any time.
9. Intellectual property
By uploading content (photos, descriptions, logos) to the Platform, you grant the Provider a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it within the Platform and its promotional materials, for as long as your profile exists. The Platform's design, code and trademarks are the property of the Provider and may not be reproduced or otherwise used without its consent.
10. Liability and limitation of liability
The Platform serves to facilitate contact, information and — in the case of seminars under section 6 — the sale of tickets on behalf of and for the account of the Organiser. The Provider does not verify the professional competence, service quality, or reliability of Professionals, Brands or Organisers beyond the basic content moderation described in section 8 and the document check for level verification under section 6a, and is not liable for damage arising in connection with a service, product, or event (including a seminar) arranged between users through the Platform — responsibility for its proper provision always rests with the User offering that service, product, or event. With respect to content uploaded by Users (profiles, descriptions, photos, messages), the Provider acts as an information society service provider within the meaning of Czech Act No. 480/2004 Coll., and is not liable for its content unless it was aware of its unlawfulness; once it credibly becomes aware of it, it will remove the offending content without undue delay. The Provider's liability towards a Consumer is not affected by this provision to the extent it cannot be limited or excluded under mandatory provisions of law.
The Provider is not liable for temporary unavailability of the Platform caused by maintenance, an outage of third-party providers (hosting, payment gateway), or circumstances excluding liability.
11. Withdrawal from the contract (Consumers)
If you are a Consumer and concluded the contract with the Provider remotely (over the internet), you have the right under Section 1829 of the Civil Code to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within 14 days of its conclusion, by sending an unambiguous statement to kristyna@groomermap.com.
In accordance with Section 1837 of the Civil Code, this right does not apply in particular where:
- it concerns the provision of a leisure-time service with a fixed date of performance (a ticket to a specific seminar, see section 6);
- it concerns the provision of digital content or a digital service (e.g. immediate access to a paid profile tier), if you as a Consumer gave express consent to performance beginning immediately before the withdrawal period expired and acknowledged that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal.
Most paid tiers on the Platform are ordered by Professionals, Brands and Organisers as businesses, to which the right of withdrawal under this section does not apply at all (see section 4).
12. Complaints and out-of-court dispute resolution
Submit any complaint to kristyna@groomermap.com; we will handle it without undue delay, no later than within 30 days. If you are a Consumer and a dispute with the Provider cannot be resolved directly, you have the right to contact the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2, www.coi.cz) as the body for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes, or to use the online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Termination and account deletion
You may delete your account and profile at any time in your account settings or by request sent to kristyna@groomermap.com. The Provider may delete or suspend an account for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, following prior warning where circumstances allow. Deleting an account does not extinguish the obligation to pay amounts already due.
14. Personal data protection
The processing of personal data in connection with using the Platform is governed by a separate Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to the Terms
The Provider may reasonably amend these Terms, in particular in connection with changes to the Platform's features or to the law. You will be informed of a material change by email or a prominent notice on the Platform with sufficient advance notice before it takes effect. By continuing to use the Platform after a change takes effect, you agree to it.
16. Governing law and final provisions
These Terms and the relationships they establish are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, in particular Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code. The courts of the Czech Republic have jurisdiction to resolve disputes. If any provision of the Terms is or becomes invalid or ineffective, this does not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
